Houston-headquartered Helix Energy Solutions Group has purchased a larger part stake in an Aberdeen-based subsea innovation and well intercession firm, Subsea Technologies.
As of now Subsea Technologies is situated in East Tullos Industrial Estate, and will work out of Helix's workplaces in Dyce because of the arrangement, the specific terms of which were not uncovered.
Scotty Sparks, EVP & COO of Helix, stated: “This acquisition provides Helix with a significant opportunity to offer in-house engineering services, product development, and systems engineering, whilst also enabling us to accelerate the development of new well intervention technologies and provide an enhanced product and service offering.” However, Subsea Technologies will operate from Helix’s offices in Aberdeen, and Lawson.
Drummond Lawson, CEO of Subsea Technologies, and boss specialized officer Dave McKay will proceed in their ebb and flow jobs. The firm, which has 30 workers, will keep on working under the Subsea Technologies brand.
Mr Lawson, who helped to establish Subsea Technologies in 2010 close by Mr McKay, stated:
